buy me some nachos...
and a baseball hat...what a better way to celebrate the July 4th holiday than with an American classic - dog day at the Schaumburg Flyers.
Hmm...what are they feeding those pugs or what are they watering their flowers with?
Check out the Pugs & Penoies 2008 posting.
We had a bit of a scare last week with Pounchkie. She went in for her annual shots and about 10 minutes after we arrived home she broke out in hives all over her face and body. Luckily we were at home and were able to take her back to the vet for additional shots to counter the reaction. She was better within minutes. We were given some additional meds to take home with us for the following few days. She did end up relapsing later that same night with hives on her legs and tummy, but after a call to the ER vet and waiting an hour the hives went away on their own. She was back to old self by the following morning. Here she is with a cool towel over her head to help with the itchy hives. Poor thing…now every year instead of just two shots, she'll have to get 4 - the shots plus the shots to counter whatever she’s allergic too. Again our 2nd dog is has to be completely different from the first one. The lesson here is whenever either gets any kind of medication to not let them be alone afterwards.
We did get a picture of her at the height of the hives. If you want to see it, click on the continued link for this entry. WARNING – this is not a pretty picture.
